I know I posted this in the old forums, but to hold with the 'Super Bowl Things' theme, I felt it needed to be added. The taste of this bread changes depending on what beer you use. It's a nice easy recipe, and tastes good with or without butter!
Beer Bread
3 cups self rising flour
3 tbsp sugar
1 12 oz can room temperature beer
Combine ingredients, put in 3”x7”x3” loaf pan. Bake 350° for one hour.
Now, this is thick, and the top of it will look... Well, grainy, for lack of a better word. It is a very heavy bread. The crust when done will usually be a very light brown. Overcooking it will make the crust VERY hard, so be careful.
When ya try this, let us know what beer you used, and how it tasted!

Oooo....sounds REALLY good. Do you have a beer you'd recommend?

Last time I did it, I used Shiner Bock, and it was nice. I'm thinking of doing another loaf soon. Just brought home a BUNCH of beer for Jon from NY.... I'm thinking he can spare a bottle! There are two in there I'm thinking of.... Carmel Porter and Chocolate Ale. So.....
We just always used cheap beer when I was a kid, and it always tasted good.
