So that's what happened. I kinda feel bad for the crack I made a topic or two ago. Here's hoping little Mick didn't see it happen.

Rayne's a pretty douchey guy. The reason he gets away with it is he's a self-insert Mary Sue.

The thing is, that's not quite a complete answer. To put it simply, Rayne's a jerk yet somehow manages to save the day and have everyone love him for it. Like when he first meets the gay doctor: At first he's an asshole about it, then five minutes later he tells off some woman and the doctor is impressed.

And when he first meets his niece, he's the worst uncle on the planet, yet magically gets better to teach some woman a lesson. One stupid comment out of him and she shuts up, as though she hasn't heard it before.
