For the past 2 days when I try to connect to the wireless connection it WILL connect but only locally. When I checked out why, the packets were being sent but not received, any reason for this?plus when I clicked on the networks it showed up as identifying...any reason for this too?

If you're only securing a local connection it means something past your router is going wrong, this could be your modem or your ISP, it may actually be the router itself is ifts not sending packets to the modem.

This happend to me not that long ago, I have the cable modem, a VOIP phone line and then my router
I had to turn off everything
Plug in my cable modem, turn it on, wait 5 min,
plug in and turn on my VOIP and turn that on wait for 5 min
and THEN plug in my router and turn that on and wait for 5 min
whats your setup like?

Um... if you can't troubleshoot your router or modem it's kind of a pointless question...

Sounds like you're not getting an IP address assigned anymore, probably because whoever owns the wireless has decided to protect it from people like you (or maybe if he noticed your activities, to protect it from you specifically.)
