Posted ImageMany of you have asked for a FAQ, so here it is. Here are the answers to the standard questions you all ask Lar each week.
  • Lar, what kind of tablet do you draw with? Lar uses a Wacom Cintiq 21UX.
  • Lar, what program do you use to draw the strips? Lar uses Adobe Photoshop CS4, using a pen, not a mouse.
  • Lar, how do I get better as an artist or writer? Lar says, "Practice, practice, practice!"
  • Lar, where can I view the art that you've made during these broadcasts? You can see them if you click here. If you want to talk about the artwork, please do so here.
  • Lar, how long does it take you to draw the strips? Lar says, "It takes me two to three hours to do the Least I Could Do strips, about three to four hours for Least I Could Do Beginnings, and it takes me eight to twelve hours to draw Looking for Group."
  • Lar, how can I find you online? Lar says, "You can keep up with me on Twitter, my handle there is lartist, you can view my YouTube channel lardesouza, you can view me on Blind Ferret Entertainment's YouTube channel blindferretent, you can find me on Myspace as Unca Lar or you can find me on Facebook as Lar Desouza."
  • Lar, who is your favorite character in either Least I Could Do or Looking for Group? Lar says, "I don't have a favorite. I love all of my children equally."
  • Lar, who is your favorite character to draw? Lar says, "I don't really have a favorite character to draw. I love all of my children equally."
  • Lar, do you read other webcomics? Lar says, "I don't really follow very many. I don't have time for other webcomics because I'm so busy drawing my own."
  • Lar, do you take commissions? Lar says, "I'd love to, but I just don't have the time right now, so sadly, no."
  • Lar, I'm having trouble viewing the stream right now. I'm getting no sound. What do I do? Lar says, "Just click on the little reload button in the bottom left-hand corner of the broadcast."
  • Lar, I'm having trouble viewing the stream right now. I can't see the video. What do I do? Lar says, "Well, we're either experiencing technical difficulties with the stream, so please don't spam the chat, or you are having problems on your end and need to reload the page by pressing F5 or hitting reload."
  • Lar, I hear you work with someone else. Tell me about that, please. Lar says, "I work with Ryan Sohmer. He's the writing half of both Least I Could Do, which updates seven days a week, and Looking for Group, which updates Mondays and Thursdays. You can find those comics at leasticoulddo.com and lfgcomic.com, respectively."
  • Lar, do you ever appear anywhere, and when are you coming near me? Lar says, "Well, I may be appearing near you. Please check http://www.leasticoulddo.com/, down near the bottom of the page to see our list of upcoming appearances. If you see that we're not coming to a venue near you, if you can get someone to pay to fly us and our merchandise out to a Con near you, we might consider it."
  • Lar, is Looking for Group based off of World of Warcraft? Lar says, "No, it's our own creation and it draws inspiration from many different sources including the Sword of Truth series of books, the Wheel of Time, and many more. Looking for Group is bound by the rules of World of Warcraft no more than Galaxy Quest is bound by the rules of Star Trek. But, if you like World of Warcraft, you'll probably like Looking for Group. And no, I do not play World of Warcraft."
  • Lar, where can I get awesome Least I Could Do and Looking for Group merchandise? You can find the online stores at https://secure.least...lddo.com/store/ and https://secure.blind...gstore/home.php, respectively. Check them often, 'cause there's new merchandise just about every month.
  • Lar, when is the Looking for Group movie coming out? Lar says, "It's taking far longer than we planned for a movie to take, so it might be another year or two. We just didn't expect it to take as long as it will."
  • Lar, what program do you use to capture your desktop for the broadcast? Lar uses WebcamMax.
  • Lar, why do you use different colors when you sketch? Lar says, "I use different colors to be able to see the lines better, so I can see the lines I want to keep."
  • Lar, where does your name come from? Lar says, "It's short for Laurence, and there's no S on the end."
  • Lar, who's this DaveBMitchell character? Dave B. Mitchell is the voice of Richard, and feel free to check him out on his Myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/davebmitchell and his Facebook at http://www.facebook....ell/69869123361.
  • Lar, what is the oddest thing anyone's asked you to draw? Lar says, "I was asked to draw someone as a furry character that was half-gargoyle and half-kangaroo, and I wasn't sure how to draw that. It was definitely one of the stranger things that I've ever had to draw, and it didn't turn out very well. I was drawing it on smaller stationary, and it was a very cramped drawing. It was awful. He was thrilled with it, and I'm glad for that. Strangely enough, I enjoyed the challenge, but looking back, I was going 'What the hell was that?' I pride myself on being imaginative, but that was like... Wow!"
  • Lar, what is your ancestry/nationality? Lar says, "My family migrated from Guyana"
  • Lar, what was your first art job after school? Lar says, "I was a computer graphics designer."

"Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly."
- Albert Einstein, 1940
