This week's Book is Swan Song by Robert McCammon:



This story revolves around a slightly different world from our own; one in which the USA and USSR are preparing to wage an all out war. And they do, using every nuclear weapon in their respective arsenals, leaving little more than ruins and ashes across most of the world. Some people do manage to survive, however and slowly gather together in relatively safe areas. The trouble is that humanity is being stalked by something else as well...

I first read this years ago, really enjoyed it and have been hunting for a copy ever since. I finally found one a short while ago and it's been a great re-read so far. The story reminds me in ways of Stephen King's The Stand. If you're into apocalyptic horror, I highly recommend it.
