From Joystiq:

We don't get to talk about books much here at The Stiq, what with our heavy focus on teh gaming and all, but today is a joyous day, as the best series of books ever made -- George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series -- will be turned into games courtesy of Cyanide Studio. Don't bother arguing with us, because we do not sow and these books are so good.

The press release says that R. R. Martin and Cyanide have already begun development, which will see games releasing for "next generation consoles and the PC." Sadly, no other details are available as of now, but we're holding out hope that these games will at least be playable, unlike that horrible A Game of Thrones board game ...

Cyanide-Studio announcement.

Edit: Hmm.. this should've probably been posted in the video game section. But I suppose it concerns both the book- and game fanatics.

Easily remedied, with a move to the Console Corner. smile.gif

I can't say that the stories are among my favourites, but there is a lot of potential for a good game or two based on the series, I think. Should be interesting to see what Cyanide comes up with.
C'mon in. Sit down. Read a little.

Christ.

First an A Song of Ice and Fire TV Series (HBO)

And now a video game.

You know what would be great? IF Martin spent less time messing up his franchise and more time finishing that damned book already. It's been pushed back four or five times.

I see this ending, so, so badly.

I hope to G-d he isn't turning into Robert Jordan.
