Hey, I just lately started reading the comic, and finally starting to catch all the way up. I read the comic for 12.26.08 and FREAKED because Guns of the SOuth was one of the first books I read by Turtledove, and I was curious if anyone else has read any of his work (i'm a big fan)
PS Tell me what was your first book in the series too. I got hooked with World at War.

I also got hooked on HT with the World at War series. I have read a ton of his other books now but I have tired of his style of writing for now. I have found his Crosstime Traffic group of books to be somewhat disappointing both in style and content.
It will be a while before I seek out anything more by HT.

I'm currently reading his Settling Accounts series, which is like Guns of the South without the time travel. The premise is that we never found the plans for the big push to the east during the civil war, and France and Russia managed to pressure the US into acknowledging the Confederacy soviergnty.
I short, instead of facism comign to Germany, it comes to a down-in-the-dumps economy of the Confederacy, in the form of the Freedom party. I'm getting near to the point of the nuclear bomb in World War 2, but I just cant guess which one is gonna do it first.
