Cause we all know if you eat healthy, it'll make you anorexic. *rolls eyes*

You picked the same quote I was going to use - and for the same reason, lin. Dear god, why are some people so stupid??? wallbash.gif

Unfortunately, that's a much easier question to answer. dry.gif

I could see if you fed your kids a good, healthy diet 99.9% of the time and maybe every couple weeks gave them a tiny bit of something not as healthy. To let them try something new.

But then again... 8 mos old?!!!!

And... am I the only one that was vaguely grossed out by the whole its almost bird feeding thing?

QUOTE
I chew the food first so they can eat it because they haven’t got any teeth yet

Maybe its more common than I know, but I can't say I've ever known of any parents I've known to do that. Ever. The closest would be a couple times friends holding a tiny piece of cookie on their tongues for a few min to help soften it for their babies when they didn't have water. Otherwise, mushing stuff with some drops of water and a fork (a fry or perogie or berry ect)

But chewing it?!

The stupid definitely beget more stupidness. She probably never had a good parenting growing up with a mom and dad who let her eat whatever she wanted and I bet she either never had a health class or ignored everything she heard.

“I buy salad, but nobody eats it. They’d rather have sugary foods.â€

Of course they are going to prefer the sweet food. a poor diet is going to make them accustomed to unhealthy food and prefer it and if their mom doesn't eat healthy the kids will want to emulate her, not to mention what mom enjoys more is going to be a far more prevalent food source and this woman hardly seems like she's promoting the salads.
I weep for their poor little bodies that were probably digesting semi-solid foods at an unhealthy young age.

Holy Jebus.... That lady... I'm so angry right now. I was reading some of the comments and they were pretty mean. All deserved in my opinion. One lady called her a selfish, lazy mare. I like it. Child Services or the equivalent should be looking into this ridiculousness. The most junk food I let my 10 mo old have is a slurp of my Smoothie King every once in a while.

Doesn't eating foods at too young an age increase an infant's likelihood to have food allergies when they get older?

This article says to wait until 6 months, but if she's been feeding them this diet for a while.... Poor kids are going to develop the worst food allergies!

I could say so many things regarding this but it would fill up more space then I have so I'll let the emoticon do most of the ranting. It's called baby food for a reason!

... She should be stabbed...

No sane person would feed McDonalds (except as a treat or with healthy options (lookit the Maccas coming out of me)) to any child! Its a treat and meant to be considered as such

I did the conversion for stone to pounds...chica weighs in at 406lbs. The kids at 17lbs are actually a fairly normal weight for their age. However, that's not going to be for long.

I'm no parent, but 8mos olds aren't supposed to be fed solid foods yet, nor are they supposed to process a high sugar/carb diet. These kids are going to be at risk of diabetes, kydney problems, and anemia at an early age.

8mo is fine to be eating solids...

But they should be stuff like pumpkin (a childhood favourite), potato, carrot, swede, turnip, apple, pear, lambs fry (another favourite) or sheep brains...

Not deep fried, processed foods or food with a high level of what I call engineering so that includes some milks, and any of those weight loss/gain supplements unless advised by a doctor

(Well, Maccas could be considered offal... but its not and Im not going there tongue.gif)

But it should be as whole as possible - no processing and little additives. But they are still ingesting way too many calories - eventually it will catch up (and I can see it happening sooner rather than later)

This is still shocking to me! I enjoyed McDonalds as a kid, but my mom didn't feed it to me every day and veggies ONCE A WEEK!

I eat mostly healthy foods (usually organic because there aren't names on the package that I can't understand). I'm not anorexic, though I bet that woman would call me anorexic.

Those poor poor kids.

That's what I've been told. That's also why I eat fairly healthy foods... unlike this mom! (see how I tied it back in?)
