I have no idea what to make of that.. with all those names you would think it's going to be great.. but going off a book I haven't seen in a couple decades, the monsters seem drab.. and what's with all the real world stuff?

If you've seen 'Bridge to Terabithia', you've seen 'Where the Wild Things Are'

I don't see how they could make a movie of the picture book without filling in the storyline.

The book was about a kid who wouldn't eat his tea and was sent to his room. Through the magic of his imagination he went exploring and found adventure, becoming king of the wild things. Eventually he got bored/tired and went home to bed.

I'm guessing the movie will involve a single mother and prospective father, and the little boy hiding from the changes in his life by creating a world that he controls. No doubt this new world of magic and monsters will help him to accept his real world problems.

Also, in 'Bridge to Terabithia' the fantasy world adventures were often similar to their real world ones. eg. They encountered the bully at school that day, they fought a troll in Terabithia that night (The troll bore similar features to the bully). So that was probably why we saw him having a snowball fight AND throwing rocks at the Wild Things.

I am glad to see they've maintained the same design for the monsters and his cat suit as in the picture book.

thank you Sable, I didn't really want to read that again. Or at least be seen reading it.

Reading is cool! good.gif

Ok, now that I've got all the legal stuff out of the way,

I work in a library dude, also an avid reader, movie fanboi and english major.

Roughly translated that means;

I've studied childrens literature (Hence the constant reference to 'Bridge to Terabithia'.)
I'm usually a pretty good judge of movie trailers.
I know which books are currently popular, and Where the Wild Things are is usually getting booked out (Also, I may spend most of my shift reading random books off the shelves... don't tell my supervisor.)
