As I'm sure many of you have forgotten (It's been quite some time) I have been in the process of writing a novel for some time now. For God knows how long now I've been editing and wrapping it up, and for whatever odd reason Writer's Clearing House has taken an interest in it. Right now I am waiting for their reply, they've sent me two letters already, the first asking for more material, the second asking for even more, and now I'm waiting for their final judgement call on it. I've been told most likely they will represent me, but then again, you never know they might decide against it.
Anyways, I'm looking for feedback before I get any from them officially. I've shown the material to family and friends, and most say it is excellent, but they have a bias, or I suspect them to have a bias. Anyways, if any of you are interested I'm willing to e-mail you the first 62 pages of the manuscript.
The novel is a religous humor/satire about scientists who in the very near future clone Jesus.
Here's the pitch I gave the agency when I first sent in my manuscript;
QUOTE
What would Jesus really do in our modern day world? That is the question answered in this religious humor/satire novel, where scientists led by Dr. Eric Nowell, who also narrates the story, clone Jesus. The central theme is the conflict between Christianity, more specifically the Catholic Church, and our modern Christ over a myriad of issues. The conflict is accentuated by the actions of the Catholic Church’s ambitious and power-hungry Pope, who sees the cloned Jesus as a serious threat. This is in part because Jesus’ return, even though man-made, is certainly a threat to the Catholic Church, which risks losing both its influence and wealth if the world ends and Jesus returns, something no official would want.
The book is not meant for those who get offended easily.
That being said, if any of you are interested (I hope a couple of you, maybe?) Just reply with a post telling me you are or send me a private tell with your e-mail and I'll e-mail it to you from there.
I really am hoping I put this in the right spot... Anthing&Everything for the win!
