I've come to the conclusion that I would very much like to have a nice little handheld electronic device to help me keep track of my life. Something that I can carry around with me; something that I can put things like address, appointments, schedules, to-do lists, etc in. Something not too expensive, obviously. tongue.gif

But I don't know, maybe I'm out of the 'techie' loop or something...but do those things exist anymore? You know, palm pilots, PDA's...things like that? Because seriously...I can't find them anywhere. I spent half the morning (when I should have been working) searching on online stores and the like and I can't seem to find anything. Did these things vanish without a trace? Or have the names on them changed so much that the sites don't know what I'm looking for anymore?

Help pwease?

(Industry has ruined me...I used to be such a tech-geek, now I'm just a industrial equipment-geek....-.-)

a good Smart Phone, even refurbished works great. I have an old HTC 8125 (Works with AT&T in the state, sim card) and it syncs w/ my outlook.

I know you said nothing expensive, but I don't know what I would do without my iPhone. Before I got one I thought "what's the big deal?" but now, I can't function without it.

Thanks for the suggestion you two, but I've got to say that even a refurbished Smart Phone seems a tad out of my budget range. I'd love to have one, but the only way it could be worth it is if I got it through a cell phone contract, and I'm already locked into one of those right now.

I'm really looking for something in a $60 or less range. Like I said, just something basic that I can keep addresses, appointments, etc in.

Good NEws - the fool thing booted up & it appears it has been unused for so long that it has totally refreshed itself. So it's like new. Now I have to inventory all of the stuff it comes with.

So, Toreshi is getting a HP5550 iPAQ with other stuff (if she wants to list it all - that's her biz).

While looking for all of the other gear I found that I have yet another iPAQ. THis is actually Compaq branded and the model is h3900 Pocket PC 2002 with Outlook 2002. Accessories include:

* USB sych/charging cradle
* External battery pack with 2 PCMCIA card slots (you'll need adaptors)
* A "Nite-Eyez" ballistic nylon belt holster that can hold the device in above mention battery pack plus a pen, a small Mag-Light and so much more
* A "hard cover" with a flip open screen cover

As with Toreshi I will gladly GIVE this to someone who needs such a tasty treat but cannot afford it. You can post here or PM me and we can make arrangements. I will not accept payment for shipping to the US or Canada - I will let you know the cost of shipping and you have to donate that to LICD. International is different & interesting.

This device comes with NO warrenty, guarantee, support from me or any other such thing.

SMOOCHES!

-KaosDad
