Any player around?

I play a City Gangrel Anarchs, involved in crime, treachery and naval trading. We're around 1800 in London now,and we started around 900 Ac near Pavia,an italian city.

Quite funny coz he's a huge 6,1 ft x 397 Lb,ex-barbarian that now looks like a 11 yr girl with pigtails,after sucking a Noz and getting Obfuscate lv3 rolleyes.gif

Sometimes he takes the looking of Prince Charles, and calls himself Dr.Jekill......heh.Guess why?

My mates are my gf that plays a Malkav (AAAAAAAH!!!The network is online!!!) afraid of the dark, and the Useless Lasombra, now called Da Pimp because of his last business....

Mage is the same line of the Genie in Aladdin:

"PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWERS!!! Itty-bitty living space!"

A very good approach to the REAL power.

That is what made me feel like playing it.

The idea that you have great powers, must must be able to use them the most discrete way or the universe will come back to bite you in the ass seems like a RP that encourages originality.

I play a troupe VTM game. Set in modern day. I play a Malkav suffering from or enjoying (depending on viewpoint) Disassociative Identity Disorder. It's rather fun as one personality is a fun loving pirate (go figure) and the other personality is an uptight accountant. My character is more for comic relief than anything else. I can do more with him, but I kinda like the social aspect more than the combat aspect.

Actually Vampires is a game developed more on politic and social than fight.Being able to talk and persuade is more effective than huge body builds or inhuman sword skill.

Well, except when a Tzimisce decide to show himself as a Szlachta...in this case speaking is the worst idea you can have.

This is true of the vampire game, except a lot of the people I play with are combat monkeys and also play werewolf. Some of them have a hard time with the switch. Which is also why I'm glad that I enjoy playing Malkavs cause for the most part they leave me alone out of fear I'll turn their minds to peanut butter, as I'm the only Malkav pc in the game and have kind of become the protector of a Malkav NPC that puts the most deranged mass murderer to shame. I'm the only person that can keep her in control and functional. Then of course I'm also second in command of the city and a constant pain in the ass for the prince.

Either way it allows me to play the social role that I prefer to play and stay out of the combat stuff that I just don't enjoy that much. Though because I play with combat monkeys my character can handle his own in combat.

Malkav:like a mix of anphetamine,viagra and peyote biggrin.gif

Actually,i used to make a fighter because, knowing well our master,i knew he used to put a lot of Infernalist and wolvies...i'm the cannon fodder of the pack.

Anyway,i like how my pc is growing because, except for outstanding physical stats he also got nice charisma and law knowledge about trading and commerce by sea. Also,he have a lot of fellows in gangs and dockers, just to have enough streets knowledge and informations about what's happening around London. And don't forget my resource at 4,because of my very first trading company founded in italy, operating since 1046.

In short:i pay bills,i bash skulls,i know people.

And,last but not least,i'm the fog over the Tamigi wink.gif 'nuff said.

I like table more, lives are more than often just a reunion of saddest ppl ever seen, playing around only to be the "coolest fu**ing in da hood" and totally ignoring what RP is (that's for what I saw in my few live games).

Also, playing tabletop tou are absolutely sure th you're playing with fair folks and,why not,set up a mini-live,just to make an evening a little bit different. We used to roleplay around Milan bar and dancefloor, acting like we still was around a table and playing our chars...A live, indeed, but formed by only 4 ppl.

Best Night EVER!!

Too bad acting like a 1000 yr old Gangrel (the clan more close to nature and wild, very similar to wolvies) gave me quite problems with cops tongue.gif

I've only played in one Vampire game and it was very short lived, as two players had to drop out. I just finished running a Scion game so our group is going to be starting up a vampire run as soon as the storyteller for vampire gets his shit together.

I don't know why the Malkavs always get compared to demented and deranged people as in Drake's post....if you ever read the Malkav book, it becomes very clear that they're actually a good deal more sane than most vampires are...they just see the world for what it is rather than what they would like it to be.

Personally, in WoD, Mage is my primary game. It's fun having a BA in chem with a minor in physics and using myself as the mortal template for a matter/forces mage.

I'm starting a new game Sunday. So far I've played in one major Camarilla campaign, where I played a bunch of characters before finally settling on a Samedi Necromancer/Spy (lots of vampires die in our games), and a Sabbat game which died in pretty short order. This new game is set in New York City, and looks interesting. I'm deciding between and Assamite Vizier and a Ventrue right now.

i played vampires once for an all-nighter in high school, but our (for lack of the actual term) DM sucked ass and we didn't get anywhere, so no one wanted to play ever again. I also spent a whole night playing Call of Cthulu. Once it gets to be about 12 hours in, that shit messes with your mind.
Read my novel at http://kellenlynch.googlepages.com

The entire first book is posted and now available in an edited form on the front page of my site. Also, I've started posting the short stories. WEEEEEEE! The second book is now posted (it's unfinished, but y'know...it's still free...)

Ever read my work? Think I deserve a couple bucks for my efforts? Good News! I'm now taking donations @ http://kellenlynch.googlepages.com (the paypal donation button is at the top. You can't miss it). I'm trying to come up with a reward for those who donate over a certain amount.

Currently play a Cammie Gangrel in a huuuuge game at Uni. i say huge, theres Cammie, Indie and Sabbat groups, and about 8 people in each... with one GM for the lot. He's insane! However my character fits in well tongue.gif an Army Officer with power of a Brigadier General... with special exceptions (Scheres Disease, obviously, among other special things).
Currently in London with the character as well, although some demon just blew up a 5km radius of it.... think lure of lame, but EVERYTHING burns. damned pc's.... anyway.

Also sorting out GM'ing a Werewolf game... any GM's here got any tips? anything constructive would be helpful smile.gif

I'm sorry I don't have any tips for you TBS but I must say that I do enjoy werewolf more and we haven't played Vamp or Mage. Mage is too complex right now and Vamp seemed too boring. Our DM is working on a game of Werewolf Dark Ages now. Should be fun and I will most likely end up as the honorary Ragabash.
