Heya Kids,

The legality of this is questionable at best. I am going to be vague so as to not get Blind Ferret in trouble.

Let's say there is a website which is owned and operated by the world's most popular web browser. This website allows users to upload their own videos for every other user to watch in streaming video. Many who use the service breach many copyright laws. Accordingly, you can find live performances by musicians that are otherwise difficult to obtain.

If a one such user wished to save such a performance onto his or her hard drive in order to transfer it to his or her MP3 player, how would this get done? in the strict hypothetical, is there a software that would allow a user to capture that performance? Likewise, what steps would be needed to locate that audio-video file on the page's source?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

B

P.S.: Yeah. I know pirating is bad. Tell that to the guys who gave us Bob Dylan bootlegs for 4 decades, thanks.

Saint Arthur is correct. That will do the trick. If you find that the stream is not a SWF (unlikely) you will need to find a demuxer for the file format

Thank you very very very much, kids. happy.gif I am a huge fan of artists like Tori Amos, Regina Spektor, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and David Bowie who change their tunes up for every tour and I love live music. I also love some appearances on talk shows.

I owe you one.

I used "Freez FLV to MP3 converter" and am now moving a David Bowie performance of "Rebel Rebel" from a Brit show "Later with Jools Holland" as my guinea pig. WOWOWOWOWOW. I am going to be boogying for a solid hour on the way into work tomorrow.

This rocks.

EDIT: I hate to repeat myself but Gail Ann Dorsey may be the sexiest woman I have ever laid eyes upon.
