They expect some wacky ass shit to happen. Higgs boson, miniature black holes, supersymmetry, etc.

Personally, the whole concept is way beyond me, but I'm interested to hear predictions.

I predict it wont be powerful enough to teach us anything beyond the lunacy of spending billions on such an experiment. Even those effects will only stick for a few years.

The prof of my "Physics and the Imagination" class told us about this, and generously told us that, if a mini black hole (a physical impossibility) does end up wreaking havoc with the world, our next class will be canceled. Nice guy, that.
