This week's book is The Well of Ascension:

The sequel to Mistborn, this story takes place about a year after the events that ended Mistborn. Elend Venture and Vin, as well as Kelsier's thieving crew, have new problems. The city of Luthadel, the heart of the Central Dominance, is under siege by two armies, with a third on the way. The only hope for the citizens is to play the two armies off on each other to buy enough time to find a solution. Facing assassins and worse, there are hints that the Well of Ascension is the only way out.

It's rather nice to see Vin, Elend and the others come back and slowly grow into their new roles, I enjoyed this novel and ended up finishing it at about 4:30 in the morning. This is an excellent sequel to Mistborn. Brandon Sanderson is also writing the 12th book of the Wheel of Time; I said it was in good hands after reading Mistborn. The Well of Ascension further confirms this. The third Mistborn novel, Hero of Ages, is due for publication in October.
C'mon in. Sit down. Read a little.

I loved this installment of the series. It had all the power and tension of Mistborn but took it in a direction that was a delight to read. I heartily recommend the both Mistborn and The Well of Ascension
