Does anyone else listen to podcasts? What are your favorites? My favorite is called The Joan Kenley Show and it's a talk show but it isn't lame like most talk radio at all. Instead there are really smart guests and the conversations they have examine an issue from all sides and there's a lot of emphasis on holistic viewpoints. There are all sorts of topics (at the link I posted you can look at "archived shows" for a list of some of the shows) - everything from pet care to politics to dentistry. Oh, and Joan Kenley was on The Simpsons three times! She does a lot of stuff with her voice.

Not sure where podcast discussion would go, lots of different subject matter to be covered there.
Anyways, there are really only two that I regularly listen to. The first is Smodcast , which is done by Kevin Smith and most commonly Scott Mosier. There are plenty of episodes though where the Mos isn't present and there are fill in co-hosts, but Kevin Smith is always there. It's pretty free form, very conversational. If you dig Smith odds are you're already listening anyway, but if you're not check it out.
The other one I listen to is Word Balloon, which is about comic books. It's hosted by John Siuntres, who is basically just a comic book fan who works in radio, and he interviews various creators from writers to artists to editors. It's the most professionally done podcast about comics I've come across, compared to the typically fanboyish stuff out there.

I like listening to This American Life's podcast. Even though, like many things NPR, it can have a strong left bent, it is still very well produced and very entertaining.
I also listen to The Brewing Network's podcasts. They're probably not going to interest you, though, unless you brew beer.

Cool, thank you for these suggestions. I think that Smodcast sounds excellent, I do like Kevin Smith. I also didn't realize that This American Life was available as a podcast. The Joan Kenley Show also has a left bent, I'd say (more like a progressive bent, it's more culturally left than politically, I'd say) - but the guests are always really high quality. I don't brew beer, but just started making my own tempeh. Wish there was a tempeh-making podcast.... Something tells me that's a little too obscure. Maybe I should make my own. Anyway, further suggestions appreciated!

Some of the most fascinating stuff I've ever come across is here. Last week, for example, I watched Brain Cox discussing CERN's soon-to-be-online Large Hadron Collider, the nature of the Higgs boson, and its place among the elementary particles that make up the universe
It's not all supernerd stuff, though. Do yourself a favor this weekend and drive around

OMG! Love ted.com! Thank you! Have you seen the one with Jill Boyce-Taylor the neuroanatomist talking about her own stroke?! That's the most moving and amazing speech I've ever seen.

Hope you like it. It'd be cool if *she* went on the Joan Kenley Show. It'd be a good match. I wonder if she's in the Bay Area...
