That man don't hunt! I bet he can barely shop for weekly groceries! tongue.gif (I love you, Sohmer! wink.gif )

D.C. would be WONDERFUL for me... but I'd be there to do the whole touristy, sightseeing, tour-taking thing...

If someone else wants to do this, maybe they and I can do this seperately (like, an entirely different weekend).

Logistically DC.

But I've seen DC a whole lot so... Montreal would be my choice.

Either of these would be great for me, since I essentially live in both of these places. The only logistical concern for me is when I would be in the Middle East, but otherwise there's no real reason for me to not attend.

I just don't feel ready to get on a plane and/or leave my country just yet. Also, MTL is only a 2-2.5 hour drive for me. So MTL gets my vote.

There's nothing quite like Montréal in the summertime. I also really have no interest in seeing DC. (Strangely enough...since everyone calls me that for some reason. tongue.gif) I was supposed to make it out to Montréal sometime this summer, but I don't know if I will or not. Next year for sure - gets my vote!

I haven't had a meet in Montreal when it wasn't ridiculously cold yet, so that might be a nice change, but I don't really care that much where it'll be held as it'll be a long flight anyway. I don't know what job I'll have by then, but if I can get the days off, I'll certainly show up again.

I don't know about DC, been there and it wasn't great. But perhaps someone else knows of cooler places to go then museums and monuments. If I could put in a request for a last weekend in June for this to occur? My wife (in 10 days) is a school teacher and wouldn't be able to go any time sooner.

I'd be happy with either, though Montreal would be where I haven't been. (Though, might have been there by the time the meet happens.) I should still be in the general area. I have to step up my job search... There should be stuff to do in DC, but I hear a lot of things close down early there. Or that was at least the impression I was given.

Pretty much June and most of July I can't make it anywhere due to the fiscal year ending June 30 and all. So I won't be able to make it anywhere until mid- to late July at the earliest.

Montreal's got my vote, I had a blast the last/first time I went there. It was damn cold and old town wasn't as lively as I hear it is in the summer but I'd love to be able to check it out during the summer months. I can also get there in 5-6 hours by car, so it's got my vote. Also me and J_A_X could discuss maybe taking the bikes, it would make for a nice road trip. biggrin.gif

So the Myrtle Beach Meet rocked! There were about 14 of us overall, and even though it rained over much of the weekend, a blast was had by all. I'm not going to say more about it here, because this is all about the next Meet! I had proposed in the Myrtle Beach Meet thread that perhaps we do either Washington, D.C. (and by extension, possibly Baltimore), or Montreal, so I'm putting up a poll to see which option seems to be more popular among the forumites and from there, I want to use this thread to plan. biggrin.gif

Personally, I'd prefer Montreal, but that would suck for some of the Montreal gang, since they wouldn't get to go on vacation...

But perhaps we could see where the reclusive Sohmer works and hunts...

Damn...I came back just after a meet sad.gif

oh well. Montreal would be great. it's quite literally 4 hours North for me on the major interstate. Great place to get together. Hope I can get together with you all at the next one!!!

Montreal would be the place I havent seen as well, and I enjoyed my last trip to canada. The only problem is its a 10.5 hour drive for me. Does anyone live along this route and want a ride to montreal next summer? I have power windows and passenger climate control!

I'd prefer Montreal, though if I still live in the same place I'm flying. That's a 17 hour drive for me. Fuck that. Even with passengers that's still one hell of a drive. Hopefully I'd be further north.. out of the cess pool of america.

Pretty much exactly the same drive I just did. smile.gif. Unless you've got a full car and you love driving, flying's probably best, although the road trip was a hell of a lot of fun.

EDIT: I voted DC because I love getting away for these trips. But of course, if the vote holds and we do it in my hometown, that's cool too. It'll just be different. But differents' not bad.

I only need one to make the drive fun. Of course, a full car would be better.

How far along. That will probably determine whether I drive or fly.

Also, I'm probably going to put up a list of potential dates soon and start marking off the dates that won't work for people so we can narrow things down early. That way, it's easier for Lar and Sohmer to attend, whether it's in D.C. or Montreal. I'd hate to see us pick a date and then find out that weekend they're out of town...

Dates marked in red are probably not good already (at least for me) 'cause I'll be working. I'll post this calendar in the original post and keep it updated as I get more no-go dates. If all the weekends are bad, then we'll go with the weekend with the fewest conflicts.
