It figures that just as I see a movie where the trailers and teasers have taunted me for months in Dark Knight, I see the beginning of its successor.

I've developed a disease where I can't stop watching the Watchmen trailer.

I can't wait to see this film. I know they aren't going to be completely faithful, but there are a few things I'm holding on to hoping that are going to be in the film.

Oh, and I'll probably go to the opening dressed as the Silk Spectre.

I've stayed away from the specifics, but I know the basics behind the big change(s). To be honest, it's not unjustified the decisions they've made. I will of course reserve judgement until I've seen it.

There is something about the visual look though that kind of irks me. Nolan's Batman films and the Spider-Man movies, Iron Man, and to a lesser extent the X-Men franchise, all did an excellent job of presenting these characters in a way that simultaneously preserves their traditional image and yet makes them look appropriate to a real world setting. The look of the characters in Watchmen seems a bit too movie-ish, as if it had the same design approach that was taken to the 90's comic book films.

Either way, I'm still eagerly awaiting this one.

I have a feeling that Rorschach next Halloween will be what the Joker was this Halloween.

probably. I was Rorschach this year but only like one person at my school knew who that was. my generation continues to disappoint me. *shakes head sadly*

I just happened to overhear on the news just now that there are some legal problems with the movie so it may be delayed or not released at all. cray.gif

I forget where the more recent discussion on this was held so I'll just post this info here, since it seems relevant.

http://multiplexcomic.com/

If you're reading this after January 12th 09, go back and find the page for today. I'm not whoring the other comic (as that would just be in bad taste), but rather the news UNDER the comic which goes into detail about the dispute and where it stands as of now.

The upshot is, most likely the release date won't change but only because WB will pay FOX to stfu and gtfo. Which = extortion on the part of FOX and the WB guys are idiots but at least I'll get to watch the Watchmen for my birthday.

Looks like we will be seeing Watchmen on time after all! Fox and Warner Bros have reached an agreement that gives Fox a cash payout, as well as a cut of the box office.

I think I can feel safe in being stoked about this movie again.

I heard the same thing on the radio this morning and totally forgot to mention it. See? Just like I thought.

Even had Fox somehow prevented release of the film, you just know someone somehow would have leaked the full version if only to spite the bastards. There's just no way the original low-budget Fantastic Four movie* could still be available and THIS wouldn't be.

*Before the one with Jessica Alba, there was a really cheap one. We're talking like about 20 years ago. It was apparently pretty putrid and wasn't, strictly speaking, ever released. Yet it can be found if ya really wanna see it.

YES!! I only ever got to read the one graphic novel but I really enjoyed it. <content removed> To get to see him in a live action movie will be awesome! I wonder who will be playing him.

Waycos Edit: This is the movie thread.. please be considerate to people who may not have read the novel and don't know what happens.

Who are you talking about? "Him" is just slightly vague...

Sorry.. I removed the character's name and I don't remember who it was. I think it was Rorshack.
