After downing a red bull and a Cadbury egg upon getting to the office, as is my custom, my next step this morning was to rummage through my e-mail and see what the morning’s offering was.

Apparently, the key word of the day was outrage, as hundreds of you send me this youtube link, as something I should see:

After watching said video, I shared in your outrage and immediately declared holy war upon Cadbury. A war of which I am as yet unsure how to proceed with, but one of which I will wage nonetheless.

Oh yes, Cadbury. It’s on now. On it is. Yes.

Thanks to everyone who cared enoguh about this noble cause to send me off a note. Jesus notices.

On a happier note, some of you also shared with me this link, which helped calm the rage somewhat. And yes, an attempt such as this, but on a greater magnitude will at some point be made by myself.

It’s going to be an interesting week.

- Because I can.

Quote of the Day

“They laughed at Louie Armstrong when he said he was going to the moon, and now he's laughing at them from up there.”
-Chazz, from Blades of Glory (2007)
What would Jesus do?

Wikipedia says the egg size is still the same in Canada, the UK, and Australia.

Wikipedia does actually say that there is a size change and references the clip from Conan
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadbury's_Creme_Egg

I suggest the first thing to do is what my girlfriend and I have already done, and that is to use the "contact us" links on the websites for both Cadbury and Hershey who makes the eggs in the US, and told them we're upset with the size difference, and that we want the old size back.

Upon inspection of the Cadbury as well as the Hershey website, there is no longer any mention of them not being any smaller, nor you getting any larger.

They're trying to make extra money by saving a gram of chocolate per egg, but selling them for the same price. Bastards. Bet they didn't count on someone still having one around from last year to compare it to! That'll teach em. Don't be dicks or you'll end up embarrassed on NATIONAL TELEVISION!!

I'm annoyed that the eggs are a little smaller than in previous years, but not so much as the fact that they're not available all year round. ranting.gif mad.gif aggressive.gif smile.gif

Why you are mistaken my friend.

http://www.cadburysc...et_cremeegg.htm

It is still very much there, but according to the useful tool that is the internet wayback machine, the mention has been there since 2003. So they're most likely not quite as blatant liars as we thought, though I still say DOWN WITH CADBURY!

Of course, some people are compensating way too much for the smaller egg, I think.

Are you man enough to take on that egg, Sohmer? Why, yes, of course you are.

They can make claims all they want. The fact is they weren't expecting anyone to actually have an example of last years eggs. When your candy is seasonal it's pretty easy to make slight changes like that without anyone noticing. *shakes fist at Cadbury* We shall have our revenge! REVENGE!!!!!

WTD Cadbury? C'mon now... That's just WRONG!

Next thing, RedBull will produce smaller cans and try to pull it past us.

Actually they're correct - it's the same, old size in Australia still (I compared my new egg to some stockpiles of previous years in my freezer) and the size and weight remains the same.

Sohmer... perhaps we can make an arrangement? I'm thinking a guest appearance and a wallpaper of the LICD ladies (excluding John) in the garb of my choice for a carton of Australian Cadbury Creme eggs? tongue.gif

EDIT: As I write this, I am literally eating a Creme Egg. Mmm.

They're still the same in the UK, which I'm glad to hear confirmed since I just thought I was being an idiot not noticing them. After that what would be next? I'd have been wearing trousers that were shin-length without noticing, and my pants would constrict the blood-flow so much I'd actually grow a vagoo out of Darwinian necessity more than anything else

Just watched PVP Episode 3 by the way. T'was good, although I shouldn't have done so after playing Episode 5 of Sam and Max. Now I have a ruptured spleen. Anythings worth a good laugh though eh? Ahh.. good times.

...anyone know where I can find an ambulance?

Sohmer,

I am also outraged at this, but I like the guy in the video's plan to store them year round. Also, I found this...

So the thing is that we need to freeze a ton of eggs and send them to you as tithes for strips eh? I like that thinking - and imagine the amount of frozen eggs you would get!

Where? As far as I can remember, the supermarkets around me hide the Cadbury Creme Eggs or any Easter-specific candy about a month or so after Easter.
