So after walking around with a few friends tonight we met up with a group of girls we were friends with. We sat talking with them for about 2 hours (until about 11:30 ish) and they brought up this haunted place by our house called Lundy Road which leads to one of the most haunted places in America... Potterville, NY!
It's about 45 minutes from our town... and apparently a ton of stuff happened there. www.potterville.org
We three guys, being the smart ones we are, declared unto them we're going camping there.
Anyone ever been there? Got any haunting stories to tell? Anyone from the area want to join^_^?

Everyday is the same old shit,
Sleep till 6, eat shower and get dressed.
And I can't help but feel depressed
As the moonlight greets me.

that sounds awesome as hell. i don't know about staying the night though. i'd probably have to take a couple of pints of vodka or something. let me know how it goes!
i wish i could find shit like that here. the only place i've really heard about being haunted was "the devil's stomping ground" in siler city. http://www.underworl...s.com/devil.htm they left out the part about the grass mysteriously catching on fire in the spot once a year. then again, this is all "mystery". i'd still like to check it out.

lol what do you mean, "mysteriously catching fire?"
Ovaries... are you setting the devil's stomping ground on fire?

pshhhh, i don't have the motivation or energy to go to siler city once a year and catch a small spot of grass on fire.

Im not so sure your still going to check this topic.. but its worth a shot. I live exactly 15 minutes from this town of Pottersville your talking about.. and the majority of the reason it takes so long to get there is you can't drive faster than 10 mph in 4WD down lundy road. When you get to the top.. i hope you brought some rain boots, because the only way to get to the ghost towm now its to walk across the river. they knocked down the bridge (those town official bastards..) But.. when you get to the ghost town you will be exteemly dissapointed to find all thats left is some old foundations. The only houses that are left still standing are the mansions (Both owned, one actually lived in by a supermodle and a porn star which is actually located on rouges harbor), and one that you drive by going up lundy road.. that was destroyed by people throwing partys and what not in it. The rest of the houses that are standing are in random places in the thick of the woods, being they cant get a buldozer in there to knock them down. I warn you though, I have been up to Pottersville many times and it is completely no joke. If by chance you do find one of these houses in the woods, you will be amazed. Everything is still intack. Even the silverware is still in the kitchens and the hardwood floors arent rotting. the houses are beautiful, but only like that because the people who know about them and how to get to them respect them enough not to destroy them. mostly locals like myself. But trust me, it is awesome there. Some of the houses are colder inside than it is outside, and you just get so scared you have to go back again and again. So have fun whenever you go, and let me know how it was. Ohh yeah, only one warning though. Dont take any trinkets/souvineirs. Bad shit has said of have come from people doin that, leave everything intacked.

Thanks for this... and thanks for messaging me on AIM about it as well. I'll have to head there soon, since my friends bitched out of it last time.

No matter what haunted site you go to, taking souvenirs is a bad idea...if the site's been labeled historical you end up in deep crap legally, and if it really is hanted it's just disrespectful to whoever and whatever is still there.
I'd love to go along, alt, but alas, it is a longer drive than i can spare at the moment. Haunted camping is fun.

Not only disrespectful, but it can be dangerous. Some spirits linger arround specific objects, and taking a malicious spirit home with you is a bad idea.

Free loot!
Why is there still anything in those houses? Over here, people even steal from sick people in a hospital, so some ghosts wouldn't stop them either. Is it just not well known the stuff is there, or something? Some druggie who needs cash wouldn't think twice about haunting or landmarks...

i just visited potterville, the town has been bulldozed down, the bridge that leads to potterville is nolonger there. you have to cross the river by foot! i have come across a few postings that say that the town still has houses with chinaware still on the tables, but there are hiding in the forest. i was not able to find any of those houses. if anyone reading this knows how to get to them PLEASE let me know. as i was leaving potterville i had the feeling that i was been watched,by what i dont no. some say its haunted, so if u go looking 4 potterville you better be strong hearted.
